What a busy day and it was good because it took forever to get going this morning. I would have liked to crawl back into bed. Went to morning prayer and then a lecture by some nice young woman for our bible class. Her spiel was that the division between Christians was "scandalous." That was her key word "scandalous." That word conjures up a more serious crime in my mind but whatever.... I left immediately after the lecture and went to the big city up north for the Catholic Conference. Had about half an hour to check out the books. I thought I had died and gone to heaven.
My first class was with Msgr. Hilgartner who referred to himself as Fr. Hilgartner. The title of his talk was "Pastoral Leadership: How to Develop Leaders and Motivate Your Team." Unfortunately I did not read the fine print which was all about prayer. It was good but not quite was I had expected. The second class was "The RCIA and the Roman Missal: Developing a Model for Liturgical Catechesis." That delivered what was promised and it was outstanding. The speaker as a Mr. Jerry Galipeau. Tomorrow I have my eyes on Celebrating the Four Pillars of our Catholic Faith, Hope for All God's People: Ministering with People with Disabilities and finally Christian Initiation of Children: A Hopeful Horizon. That should get me back to the parish for the Catholicism series. Ran into St. Stephaniola on the way out. I was not surprised to see her but she was surprised to see me. Why? That group is staying overnight at the hotel. I rather went home and stay with the doggies. Oh yeah, the parking! $28 bucks. Outrageous. Tomorrow again that amount. $54 to fill up the car with gas today. It's getting expensive to educate myself. I saved money sticking to a $5 lunch.
