The puppy came last night. The keyboard broke down. Could not blog any more or write e-mails. I don't think the two are connected. The puppy is adorable. Took him to the temple this morning to have him blessed. The Rabbi comes, makes the sign of the cross over him, and tells me he hates dogs. He said that to everyone else as well this morning - that he hates dogs. I knew he was allergic to dogs and I did not expect him to hold the dog but "I hate dogs?" Does he tell mothers of children: "I hate children!" The dogs are my children. I took the puppy to McDonald's this morning after temple services. He was wrapped in a blanket, COVERED in a blanket. If the dog would have peed he would have peed into the blanket. He never did pee. He was quiet as a mouse, did not move and the Rabbi tells me it is a bad idea to bring him in to McDonald's. He acted as though I was bringing in a 150 pound nerdy attack dog. I told the Rabbi that in Germany people bring the dogs into the restaurants and leave the children outside. Well, they used to leave the children outside in the baby carriages. Dogs are not unwelcome and I did not want to tell him that the restaurants over there are ten times cleaner than here. Of course he told me that this is not Germany. Wished it were sometimes. I took my dogs last year to the Blessing of the Animals. Do I want them blessed again by a dog hater? You bet I don't. I will find me a nice Franciscan hood who will bless them next time. The dog and I departed early. Could not stand the anti-dog atmosphere and we went to the nursing home. Everyone loved the puppy and wanted to hold him. What a difference. Went to Best Buy and bought a new keyboard. Ahh, I could blog again.....
